If you're looking for a place to volunteer then you've come to the right place. The Monadnock Region offers many fun volunteering opportunities for tweens and teens. Most of these organizations also have programs that you may be able to get help from should the need arise.

 

Community Kitchen

Volunteer opportunities include delivering food in the morning, serve meals from 4:45-7:30pm, or sort clothes 2 or 3 times a week. Contact Deb at 352-3200.

 

Habitat For Humanity

The KSC Chapter of Habitat for Humanity has worked in the Keene, New Hampshire area, along the East Coast of the US, and in three Latin American countries. Meetings are every other Tuesday in the Young Student Center at 9:30pm. For more information, call 358-2786. Web Site

 

Keene Public Library

The library has a program called VolunTeens. They have a few volunteers throughout the year but the major push is during the summer when they have 25-40 kids volunteering at the library. If you'd like more information, please contact Gail Zachariah in the Children's Room.

 

Monadnock Humane Society

Here at MHS, we think that volunteering should be a fun and life-changing experience. We invite volunteers with varied interests and talents to to join with us in our quest for a truly humane community. NH West Red Cross

The NH West Chapter of the American Red Cross welcomes volunteers of all ages. There is no minimum age requirement to become a volunteer. There are however, particular volunteer positions that do have age restrictions such as Red Cross instructors, Disaster members, blood donors and drivers. Karen Fabis at 603-352-3210, ext. 230. Stonewall Farms

They are currently recruiting volunteers to help out at the farm this summer! They're seeking individuals interested in helping out in our garden, farm stand, dairy barn, office, and more. Some experience in a farm and/or office setting is preferred, but we will train the right individual! Volunteers typically commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week, and all volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
